Acts of Memory (28mins, 16mm, 2024)
Acts of Memory opens as the sound of a powder flash ignites, bringing to life a photograph taken in the reading room of a public archive in Dublin, Ireland, frozen in time since 1914. This moment, acknowledges a vanished past; neither the figures captured in the photo, the building nor its contents, remain.

Festival C’est Trop Court!, Nice (October 2025) – Winner of Best Experimental Film (Expérience category- 3 jury comments below)
“A film that creates a link between the past and the present, between old techniques and those of today. A tribute to heritage, memory, and also to forgetting — while maintaining a strong and original artistic stance.
A film that respects the past and, through both new and old technologies, connects a fragment of history with our own by evoking something that no longer exists. With frankness and honesty, it breathes new life into the archive, restoring to the images their emotional and historical strength.
A personalisation of history — a reactivation of the past through the archive and contemporary creation — which transforms absence into a new poetic substance and delivers a humble message of humanity.”
The film also received a Special Mention in the Documentary category at Nice from a different jury.
