BREATH MEMORY

Breath Memory (Pamięć Oddechu) is a series of five short experimental films commissioned by The Wapping Project and co-commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw. Drawing on silent 8mm and 16mm home movies from The Archive of Home Movies in Warsaw for inspiration, the series re-films, re-sounds, and reworks archival material to create new and distinctive ways of looking at the past. The films approach the archive not only as a repository of history but as an open document—one that can be entered, added to, and answered through new visual and sonic gestures. By connecting fragments of private and public memory across time, Breath Memory opens a dialogue between what has been recorded and what can still be felt, heard and imagined. Clips from Golden Delicious, Girl in a Blue Dress and Wesele | A Wedding can be found here
